India also known as Land of supersitions has many stories of ghosts,black magic ,spirits amd unexplained phenomenon.Many places in country are haunted by mysteries ,spooky events which sends chill down the spine.

If you are planning travel trip to india and brave enough following haunted places are must to explore sites in country .

1.Bhangarh Fort,Rajasthan

Bhangarh Fort tops the list of most Haunted place in india .Entry in the fort after sunset is highly restricted.Bhangarh Fort is situated along the Aravali hills along the border of the Sariska Reserve,Rajasthan.

The fort was constructed by Raja Bhagwant Singh, who was the Kachwaha ruler of Amber in 1573 A.D. He built the fort for his younger son Madho Singh.

Story:The beautiful princess Ratnavati  attracted tantrik who casted magic spell on Princess perfume.Somehow princess came to know regarding evil spell ,she threwed bottle outside on rock .

Out of magical effect, the rock got attracted to the tantrik, followed him and crushed him to death. Before dying, the tantrik cursed the princess and the Bhangarh Fort that no one would be able to flourish there and town become haunted spot ever since.

2.Kuldhara ,Rajasthan

Abandoned and deserted since 1825 kuldhara ,near Jaisalmer is declared Ghost town.Only left over remnants of village confirms once well thriving life which existed there .

Story :Salim Singh, the Diwan(king) of Jaisalmer, known for his unscrupulous tax-collecting methods, fell in love with the chief’s daughter and threatened the villagers with heavy taxes if they failed to get them married.

Fearing the wrath of the Diwan, the residents of the entire village fled one dark night, leaving behind their homes and everything within them. No one saw the thousand-odd members of the village leave.

All that is known is they cursed the town when they left – that no one would ever be able to settle down in Kuldhara again.

3. Shaniwarwada Fort, Pune

Shaniwarwada Fort is historical landmark site in pune ,it known for its association with Bajirao Peshwa .Although it is popular destination amoung tourists,it is believed to be haunted and after sunset visit to the fort is strictly prohibited.

Story:Peshwa Narayan Rao had his differences with his greedy and rebellious uncle Raghunath Rao. It is widely believed that Raghunath Rao has sent a message to get hold of Narayan Rao by stating- ‘Narayan Rao la dhara’, which means ‘Hold Narayan Rao’.

However, before the message reached the guards, Raghunath Rao’ s wife Anandibai changed it to ‘Narayan Rao la mara’ or ‘Kill Narayan Rao’.Haunted

What followed was the ghastly murder of the Peshwa, who cried and ran about the fort screaming “Kaka mala vachva”, which meant “Uncle save me!”.

The spot where he was murdered is believed to be haunted by his spirit till date, which moves about the fort and urges his uncle to save him.

People who living close by swear to having heard his cries on particular nights.

4.South Park Street Cemetery,Kolkata

Located in Park Street area of Kolkata cemetery is one of the largest non christian cemetery outside Europe and America.

Many people have felt dizzy or fallen sick after coming here, people have captured weird structures on their cameras or complained of breathlessness even though they don’t have any breathing problems.

Story:Cemetery constructed in 1767 is believed to be burial site of many bristish soldiers. Many people have admitted to seeing strange shadows and outline of a girl dressed in white.

5.Agrasen ki Baoli,New Delhi

Although New Delhi is known for its hustle and fast pace life.There is one such mystical place located within the city, yet far from the chaotic city life! It is none other than the ancient stepwell Agrasen Ki Baoli.Haunted

It has three stories and 108 steps which goes down to the well. Agrasen Ki Baoli also has a resemblance to the baolis or baodis (stepwells) in Gujarat and Rajasthan.Haunted

According to the sources, people who have visited this Agrasen ki Baoli claim that something invisible followed them and the faster they ran the quicker it chased.

Story:It is said that King Agrasen who lived during the time of Mahabharat and stepwell was build during his time .

6.Dow Hill,West Bengal

About 30 kilometers from Darjeeling is located the most haunted hill station in India, Dow Hill of Kurseong,which is epitome of paranormal happenings and stories.

A small hill station known for its beautiful vistas, orchid gardens, forested hills, and tea plantations, Kurseong is also home to a death road, headless ghost, haunted school, and countless real ghost stories. Haunted

As per local sayings ,terrifying ghosts reside in the small hill station of Dow Hill, the surrounding forest, and the nearby Victoria Boys School.

A number of accidents and murders have taken place here in the forest, and the ghosts of various children have been sighted.

The most common is one of a headless boy, who roams around in the forest and follows people.

The local had a terrible time watching the headless ghost of a young boy walking and disappearing into the forest.

People have reported cases of being followed and constantly watched over by an unseen entity. Some have even seen a red eye peering at them.

There is even a ghost of a woman dressed in grey. Such bad is the air of these forests that unfortunate visitors either lost their mental balance or ended up killing themselves.Haunted
